It's time! First-Gen Week is here! Charlotte celebrates National First-Generation College Student Day (November 8) all week! From November 3-8, get excited to meet and greet with other First-Generation Niners, get some free swag, and celebrate your First-Generation identity. If you attend 2 or more events during this week, you will have a chance to receive an exclusive IAmAFirstGenNiner swag item.

First-Generation Kickoff, Belk Plaza, 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
First-Gen Week kicks off. Have y’all felt that chill? Fall is here! Start your week off right with a cozy hot drink and give yourself your flowers (literally)! Drop by to share moments of pride, receive your flowers, grab some swag, and learn about all the events going on this week.
Transfer First-Gen Pop-In, 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., Atkins Sidewalk and Belk Plaza
Come join your fellow First Gen Transfer students for some popcorn, yard games, and community building!
First-Gen Week Movie Night - 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., Union Theater
Get cozy! 'Tis the season for horror. Join us for a screening of Ryan Coogler’s Sinners. We will have snacks while supplies last and a special surprise for the first First-Gen folks who are there for ‘previews’. PJs are encouraged.
First-Gen Week Resource Fair, 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., CHHS/Mebane Plaza
Explore campus resources all in one place. The First 50 students to attend will receive an IAmFirst tote bag.
First-Generation Cookout, Star Quad/West Quad 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.
Join us for our annual First-Gen Cookout! You bring the vibes, we have the food! With music, giveaways, and food, we celebrate being First together.
It’s National First-Generation College Celebration Day! Spend today celebrating yourself and your accomplishment of being first. Faculty/Staff tag us @clt_belong with photos from when you were First. First-Gen Niners tag us @clt_belong, telling us WHY you are Proud to be First.
