These are monthly gatherings dedicated to providing space for you to be in community with other First-Gen Niners.

For the First Workshop Series
"For the First" is a workshop series in the Spring semester for First-Generation Niners to learn and develop alongside their peers specific skills (personal, professional, financial, academic, etc.) for success during their time at Charlotte and beyond.

First-Generation Celebration Week- November 3rd - 7th
This annual fall celebration spans a week that includes National First-Generation College Student Day (November 8) and includes daily events for the celebration.

First-Generation Graduation Celebration
This biannual celebration provides recognition of the accomplishments of First-Generation graduating students and allows them to celebrate the honor of ‘being first’ with their families. Graduating First-Generation students receive an honor cord by attending this celebration.

First-Generation Appreciation Day
This annual celebration occurs in the Spring semester as an opportunity to celebrate being First-Generation and provides students a space to develop community with their First-Generation peers.
