Gracie Tyler
I always knew I had a pathway I wanted to follow, since I was little. As I grew older, I wanted to attend college where I could truly feel at home, find a degree that aligned with my career goals, become part of a school community, and build friendships and connections. However, finding these opportunities was challenging after completing my associates. Growing up with a single parent who never went to college made this journey even tougher. Being able to be the first student to attend this school, the first to earn my bachelor's degree, the first to receive a degree in education, and the first transfer student at this wonderful institution. I am proud to call this place my home as I stand here as the First-Gen Niner! To all First-Gen Niners including myself, I encourage you to take advantage of the resources provided by the school and to engage actively in the school community. Even after graduating, you can join the alumni network, which allows you to continue accessing resources and remain a part of the community.
